Scope of the project was
to provide a distinct, unique visual appearance. It incorporates architectural elements and lighting for motorists entering
and exiting the Meridian Gateway urban corridor from a commuter highway into a core urban area. Initial concepts required
lighting integrated into nautical architectural elements, to effectively deploy vehicular commuters from highway to this mixed-use
corridor, which includes a pedestrian trail with entertainment and sports complexes, residential, retail and urban core area.

Slide #2 - Wave arm, “ship’s mast and rigging gantry” pole mirror
adjacent harbor traffic and cruise port. Wave motif reflects in walkways lighting, landscape berm and planters, area parking
structure and Gateway lighting.
Developed concepts show an integrated lighting system for roadway and pedestrian trail.
Roadway lighting standards include 35’ mounting heights with glare-free 250W metal halide roadway fixtures and pedestrian
trail lighting with 150W MH indirect elements at 11ft.

Slide #3 - Roadway fixtures use high-performance, specular,
segmented reflector concealed within narrow 17’ arm. Type III distribution with a full-cut-off classification was achieved.
Giving the reflector an internal 20 tilt yielded performance roadway lighting values that surpassed design requirements at
1.6Aver, 4.8Max, 0.5Min, 3.7Aver/Min.

trail next to roadway using indirect lighting. Energy efficient, 150W T-6, CMH lamp in a tight-beam reflector uplight mounted
at 11’ is used.
